County approves rezoning and special-use permit to entitle long-standing outdoor storage on North County Line Road

Applicant representative Drew Sellard told the board the request does not introduce new uses but aims to bring a long-standing outdoor storage use into entitlement and into compliance with current standards. "Our request is not to introduce any use, just to align the property zoning with the use that's been on the site for the past 30 years," Sellard said.
Staff and board members discussed what constitutes outdoor storage, the need for an opaque screening fence and a landscape strip adjacent to the road, and how hazardous materials issues are regulated separately by fire and county code. The planning board approved the rezoning and special-use permit with conditions; the commissioners voted unanimously to approve with the conditions read into the record.
