The San Elizario Independent School District Board of Trustees authorized a reorganization of grade-level campus composition for the 2026–2027 school year following a closed session on personnel and related matters.
Dr. Blanca Cruz presented the plan after the board returned to open session at 8:59 p.m. Trustee Myrna Hernandez moved to approve the reorganization and Monica Chavez seconded; the motion passed 4–0 with Eduardo Chavez, Monica Chavez, Myrna Hernandez and Axel Lopez voting yea and three trustees absent. Dr. Cruz told the board the changes were recommended because of declining enrollment and personnel changes.
Board materials and the motion indicated the reorganization will take effect for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year. The board did not provide detailed grade-by-grade reassignments in the public portion of the meeting; staff will present implementation details at a subsequent meeting required for operational steps and communication with affected campuses and families.
