Trustees opened a public hearing on the district's proposed 2026——27 budget and proposed tax rate after Ms. Elizabeth Perez presented financial projections and answered trustee questions about fund balances and transfers. Trustee Eduardo Chavez asked whether the health fund was included in the general fund report; Perez clarified it is a separate fund and that transfers to the health fund will be presented "shortly."
During public comment, Ms. Messina Holguin urged the district to renew the EHR program. Superintendent Dr. Jeannie Meza-Chavez responded directly, stating, "the district is not removing the program. The proposed budget includes the renewal of EHR program." The public hearing record shows the district planned to retain the program and had accounted for its renewal in the proposed budget.
