The Transportation & Aviation Committee recommended concurrence with staff, and the resolution states the closure may occur for up to one full week within a window that begins Aug. 7, 2026 and extends through Oct. 12, 2026 to accommodate potential discovery of unforeseen obstructions. Committee members explained the extended window is to allow schedule flexibility during coordination with contractors and railroad operators.
Council moved to concur with the committee recommendation and adopted the resolution. Council members noted they expect efforts to minimize traffic disruption and to provide timely public notice of the specific closure dates.
