The Board voted to authorize the Business Administrator to issue payments in advance to Magic Years for lease payments related to the Early Childhood Center (motion 225‑178). The motion passed by roll call vote, 7 yes.
During the public hearing, Karen Criscione, WPEA Co‑President, asked a procedural question: "why and how many months in advance are we paying?" Business Administrator Dwayne Ortiz responded that the lease requires payments on the first of each month and, because Board meetings tend to occur later in the month, payments are issued prior to that month's meeting to meet lease deadlines.
