Borough asks Board to consider renaming Memorial gym for longtime volunteer Lou Taylor Sr.

During New Business the Borough asked the Board to consider renaming Memorial School’s gym in honor of Lou Taylor Sr., who the minutes say dedicated many years to youth sports in Woodland Park. The Board did not take immediate action and said it would check the district’s policy on facility dedications before discussing the matter at a future meeting.
Karen Criscione told the Board she supported the renaming and praised Mr. Taylor’s long service, saying he ensured no child in town was denied the opportunity to play due to finances. The Board also noted a town appeal to accept donations for a family who recently lost their home in a fire.
No formal resolution to rename the gym was adopted at the Oct. 21 meeting; the matter was placed on future business pending policy review.
