Board ratifies settlement with WPEA, geese‑control contract and transportation route
Summary
The Board accepted a settlement with the WPEA over DCRP contributions, ratified a contract with Geese Police for field control and approved an NRESC transportation route for the 2024–2025 school year. The settlement passed 7–1.
At the Oct. 21 meeting the Board voted to accept a settlement agreement with the Woodland Park Education Association concerning DCRP contributions; the motion carried 7 YES with one NO (Glen Grimes).
The Board also ratified a shared services agreement with the Borough to provide a Special Class II officer for ESY for a not‑to‑exceed cost of $4,800.48 plus $3,675 for certification training. Separately, the Board ratified a contract with Geese Police to provide geese control at Memorial Field, Memorial Middle School and School 1 at a rate of $505 per week for the term April 1, 2024–March 31, 2025.
The transportation contract with NRESC/Omar Tours for route Q3685 (Allegro School) was approved at an estimated cost of $13,530.00 plus $811.80 for service covering 9/27/24–11/29/24. These finance and contract items were presented under regular agenda finance items and approved by roll calls recorded in the meeting minutes.
