The Sands CISD Board of Trustees met June 19, 2025, and approved a package of motions covering facilities purchases, contracts and an efficiency audit. President Jody Howard called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.; the board adjourned at 8:26 p.m. All motions recorded in the minutes passed by unanimous vote of the five board members present.
Actions approved included appointing a delegate and alternate to the TASA/TASB School Board Convention; delegating limited contracting authority under Texas Education Code §11.151(c)(4) to the superintendent for purposes of TEC §48.257 and Chapter 49 (including approval of the Agreement for the Purchase of Attendance Credits); execution of a multi-year energy contract to lock in long-term energy costs; purchase of tables and technology hardware for the new PreK–12 facility via cooperative contract; hiring Bolinger, Segars, Gilber & Moss, LLP for an efficiency audit; upgrades to the ag show barn (new stalls and a concrete floor with drain); purchase of State Championship monuments for the new campus; and continuation of the next phase of fencing for the new PreK–12 property. The board also approved consent items including May 2025 minutes, bills and claims, and financial reports.
