Senate panel advances bill extending firefighter cancer presumption to arson investigators and deputies

Chairman Jackson described SB 16-16 as "a really short bill" that "expands the firefighter firefighter cancer presumption to arson investigators who are exposed, who were employed by the T.B.I. and ... deputies of the county sheriff's departments." He told members the move reflects recognition that those investigators and deputies are exposed to toxins and smoke after fires are mostly extinguished.
