Dixon rolls out online transportation permits with example permit tracking

Senior Civil Engineer Brandon Rodriguez demoed the city’s newly deployed permitting platform (Tyler Enterprise Permitting & Licensing, "EPL") and explained how residents and contractors can apply for transportation permits online, upload attachments (insurance, route maps), and monitor application status. "We went live with a new permitting or permit tracking software called Enterprise Permit Permitting and Licensing, otherwise known as EPL," Rodriguez said, and he used an example transportation permit (000973-2024) to show the applicant view and status workflow.
Rodriguez emphasized that submission confirms the application was received but is not an approval: "However, do note that this is not an approval. Right? So this is just confirmation that you succeeded in applying for this permit." He also noted the permit process references city code (12.06) and the system can display fees, completeness checks and required attachments; staff said the digital system should streamline reviews and provide applicants with clearer status updates.
