Savoy ISD board approves consent agenda and hears campus reports

The Savoy ISD Board of Trustees approved the consent agenda at its April 13 regular meeting, including the minutes from the March 2, 2026 meeting, payment of current bills and the district financial report. The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Bear Reed and seconded by Drew Saltzman; the measure carried with six yeas and one abstention for conflict by Board President Jeff Francis.
Elementary Principal Danny Henderson and High School Principal Rory Hilliard each read their written reports to the board. The district did not record questions or extended discussion following those presentations. Superintendent Sam Talley also read the board’s continuing education credit hours and presented routine administrative items noted in his April report, including a plan to move sixth grade to the high school for the 2026–2027 school year.
“The meeting was called to order by Jeff Francis at 7:00 pm,” the minutes record, and the board noted seven trustees present, establishing a quorum. The board then moved on to action items following routine reports.
