Groveland approves cooperative vehicle contract and reimbursements; council clarifies contract not exclusive

During the July 20 consent agenda, Groveland’s City Council approved Resolution 2026-35 authorizing use of the Florida Sheriffs Association Cooperative Contract FSA25-VEL 33.0 for citywide vehicle purchases on an as-needed basis through July 19, 2029, with total expenditures not to exceed $900,000.
Mayor Keith Keogh asked the maker of the motion to amend to state that the Florida Sheriffs Association contract is one of the City's authorized purchasing vendors and is not exclusive. The amended motion was made by Council Member Michael Jaycox and seconded by Vice Mayor Barbara Gaines; it passed with all council members present voting aye.
Also on the consent agenda, the council approved Resolution 2026-43 to reimburse Magical Moments Pediatrics, LLC for demolition costs for property at 267 East Cherry Street consistent with the City's economic development incentives policy. Public commenter Chris Walker asked why the reimbursement was being made and who performed the demolition; Mayor Keogh said the City had previously committed during a workshop to reimburse demolition expenses from restricted Building Fund revenues to attract the city's first pediatric medical office.
The consent approvals moved forward as amended. Details of vendor selection or procurement timing will be handled through the City's purchasing and finance processes.
