The commissioners approved renewal of the Texas Association of Counties County Choice Silver retiree healthcare plan for 2026 and authorized the county judge to sign the renewal agreement. Ms. Hedinger, who presented the item, said the Silver post-65 plan is administered through Transamerica for medical coverage and M& G Insurance for retiree Rx and that the benefit is fully funded by retirees.
Ms. Hedinger told the court the recommended action is to renew the current plan and noted a $33.45-per-month premium increase that will take effect Jan. 1, 2026. Commissioners voted to approve the renewal on a voice vote with no recorded roll-call in the transcript.
