City Council authorizes remote participation for council member due to medical emergency

At a special Dixon City Council meeting on Dec. 10, the council approved a request by Council member Bogue to participate remotely under the government-code provisions for emergency circumstances. The council reviewed the requested accommodations under Government Code section 54953 and related provisions and took a roll-call vote to permit remote participation; the vote was unanimous.
Council leadership said the participating member was attending to a family medical emergency and that no members of the public were present to comment on the request. After authorizing the remote appearance, the council recessed to closed session.
