The Seguin ISD Board of Trustees on Aug. 27 approved designating 10 additional non-business days per calendar year for the purposes of responding to Public Information Act (PIA) requests.
The board approved the following days: the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of Spring Break; the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of Thanksgiving week; and the first four days of the Christmas/Winter Break. The motion, moved by Linda Duncan and seconded by Ben Amador, passed unanimously. The agenda cited HB 3033, which permits school districts to designate up to 10 days per year when administrative offices are closed or operating with minimum staff for PIA response purposes.
Staff will apply these dates when calculating response deadlines for public records requests in future calendar years, consistent with the board’s approval.
