The Seguin ISD Board of Trustees authorized the administration to execute an agreement with Tangram Rehabilitation Network to provide specialized educational and related services for students whose Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams determine those services are necessary.
The minutes state Tangram will provide services or placements when the district cannot meet a student's needs in-house or when an ARD committee determines an external provider is required. The agenda item cited compliance obligations under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Texas Education Code; the motion to approve Tangram as an outside provider was included in the consent agenda approved unanimously by the trustees present.
The agreement allows the district to secure externally provided special education services in circumstances where FAPE and least-restrictive-environment requirements require placement or services outside the district.
