The Savoy ISD Board of Trustees voted Feb. 9 to call a school board trustee election for Saturday, May 2, 2026, and approved election staffing and locations for early voting.
The motion to call the election was made by Drew Saltzman and seconded by Lee Rich and carried with five yeas, one abstention (Jeff Francis, listed as abstain with conflict) and one absent board member. The board appointed Donna Leach as Early Voting Clerk and Denise Pugh as Assistant Clerk; the board specified the Savoy ISD Administration Building as the polling place and set early-voting hours from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., April 21–28, 2026. The board also approved the Order of Appointment for the election judge and alternate. The meeting minutes record that the district filed places on the ballot Jan. 14–Feb. 13, 2026, consistent with the timeline the superintendent reviewed.
The action was procedural and routine, available in the board’s motions and vote tallies. The board’s election staff appointments and dates specify the local early-voting window and polling place for voters.
