Dixon council approves $5,000 for downtown Christmas tree lighting

Adeline said the subsidy committee, composed of Councilmember Bogue and Vice Mayor Johnson, recommended approval. “Attached in your original agenda item was their Community request for community support fund form and their application,” Adeline told the council.
Rebecca Robinson, speaking for the event, thanked city staff and volunteers and described the event’s scale, saying last year “over 4,000 people came in.” Councilmembers praised staff work and the downtown benefits, then approved the resolution by roll call.
Next steps: staff will process the $5,000 grant from the subsidies-to-community-groups fund and coordinate event logistics with DDBA and city departments.
