Designers proposed repurposing the district's oldest (and sentimentally important) building as the new administration center, with a phased program and a plan to preserve flexibility for the future.
Angie Sutzman said the building plan includes a reception area, superintendent office and a boardroom created by removing interior classroom walls; the design uses flexible furniture and display cases in the corridor. "So the main reception there by the boardroom...we will have access control at her desk," designers said when reviewing circulation and security.
Staff described a plan to phase furnishing and occupancy so that some offices start with existing furniture while other rooms receive new furnishings as the build-out continues. The administration building's finish-out timeline is currently targeted for December with occupancy by late December or January, depending on final permits and procurement. Staff also discussed adding building signage, a new address, and a shared approach to parking and overflow with an adjacent church.
