The GUNTER ISD Board of Trustees voted to approve the district's prime-contractor package for a set of renovation projects, following a presentation and bid review at the meeting.
Board President opened the action item and asked for a motion to "approve the total sheet and prime contractors for the construction of the Gunter ISD improvement project." After a second, the board voiced its support and the motion carried. The president closed the item and adjourned the meeting.
District staff and the project team told trustees the immediate priority is remodeling six high-school restrooms to be complete by August, ahead of the school year. "The restrooms for the high school...that's the one that's most critical right now because we have to hit the ground running pretty quickly," the project lead said. Staff said final pricing for concrete excavation and a recent AV technology change will be provided at the May 18 meeting before any additional contract approvals.
The board's vote was taken by voice; the record shows the motion was seconded and the board answered "Aye" when called. No roll-call tally with individual member votes was read into the record.
