The GUNTER ISD Board of Trustees voted to adopt a 2026–2031 strategic plan presented by consultant Ashley Stewart of Gallagher. Stewart told trustees the plan contains "four categories, six strategic objectives, nine strategies and 11 action plans" intended to guide district work on curriculum, character development, professional learning and facilities planning.
Stewart described the plan as the product of a multiweek process and said the action plans were written for administrators, teachers and students. "Assuming we have approval tonight," she added during the presentation, "we're bringing it back to you." Board members asked for an annual update on progress and a one-page status dashboard to track attainment of goals.
Board member Speaker 2 moved to approve the strategic plan and the motion was seconded; the plan passed on a voice vote. Trustees and administrators said the plan will inform curriculum alignment and communications work, while some acknowledged that several goals will take multiple years to implement.
