GUNTER ISD outlines restroom, turf and roofing upgrades for spring-summer

Presenter gave a run-through of planned facility upgrades affecting multiple campuses, saying the middle school gym entrance has been remodeled to look like a formal entryway and that restroom privacy improvements are complete. "Now it looks like a real entryway, and there's privacy in the restrooms," the Presenter said.
The Presenter said that starting in May — "right before school's out" — work on high school restrooms will run through the start of the next school year in August and will use commercial-grade materials, with an aim to use every space more effectively. The district also plans to install artificial turf on the football, baseball and softball fields, citing safety concerns and the current surfaces reaching their life expectancy after heavy use.
The Presenter announced a roofing project moved to a Feb. 2 start date because of forecasted weather and estimated the work would be completed in about a week. District staff said the roofing and restroom work are timed to minimize disruption to instruction and athletics.
