April Swenby, Sand Hill River Watershed District (SHRWD) Administrator, presented three separate petitions for 2027 general tax levies under Minnesota Statutes Annotated 103D.905, Subd. 3. The petitions request levy authority to pay costs attributable to basic water management features and specific projects in the watershed district; each petition was adopted by unanimous vote.
The first two petitions each cited an amount not to exceed 0.00798% of the taxable market value (listed at $164,595.30) for water-quality, erosion and other water-management projects; the third petition cited an amount not to exceed 0.00798% of taxable market value and listed $100,000 directed to watershed studies, education, monitoring and related activities. The SHRWD said these funds may be used for activities such as targeted watershed grants, bank stabilization, LiDAR, TMDL studies and stream gauging.
The board also received the SHRWD's 2025 Annual Report and audited financial statements, which were presented to the board and placed on file.
