FinCom hears updates on MVRHS building project and raises regional ambulance questions

The minutes state the MVRHS Building Committee is scheduling information forums for the June 2 vote and that Chair Dion Alley resigned his role to represent Oak Bluffs more fully. The FinCom said it would recommend the Town Select Board appoint a new Tisbury representative if the project advances to construction.
Separately, the committee recorded an informal meeting with the new Martha's Vineyard Hospital (MVH) CEO that broached the idea of regionalizing Island ambulance services. The minutes noted that ambulance service on-Island is not state-mandated, which helps explain the variety of private ambulance arrangements in other regions. The committee asked Rachel Orr, Melinda Loberg and Russ Hartenstine to follow up with Amy Houghton and the MVH CEO regarding regional ambulance options.
