Red Lion council schedules Fire Tax ordinance, 2025 budget and manager appointment for next week

Red Lion Borough officials said they will act next week on an Ordinance to establish a Fire Tax, adopt the borough’s 2025 budget and make multiple personnel and administrative appointments. Cindy Barley, reporting for administration, listed the items at the Dec. 2 work session.
Barley said Michelle Poole is slated to be appointed borough manager and Open Records Officer and that Jay Nolt is scheduled for appointment to BCO aligned with Dan Shaw’s retirement timetable. A resolution to appoint Hamilton & Musser as borough auditors is also scheduled for adoption. The session recorded a planned vote next week on a revised joinder agreement allowing Robert Joyner to receive a 2% pension multiplier.
The meeting packet noted the 2025 Budget Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025 at 6 p.m. Barley also reported staff is awaiting delivery of a generator and that Joe Mulá was to contact Columbia Gas about a larger service line said to be necessary for that equipment. Council will consider administrative motions to add council members to bank accounts and remove Dan Shaw next week as well.
