The Silsbee Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved its consent action agenda (items A–J) at the Sept. 17 board meeting. The consent package included approval of minutes; financial reports and bills; tax reports and refunds; utility usage graphs; Budget Amendment #1; authorization to open an RFP for instructional materials, equipment, supplies and related items; acceptance of a donation from the Silsbee Education Foundation for the 2024 grants awarded Sept. 6; and a purchase order to Lake Country Chevrolet for a CTE delivery van.
Trustee Dana Hancock made the motion to approve the consent items, which Trustee Derrell Ferguson seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The minutes record the donation presentation from Rachel Donalson, Donita Banks and Gaye Lokey on behalf of the Silsbee Education Foundation; the minutes do not specify the dollar amount of the donation or the detailed allocation of the 2024 grants.
