The East Palo Alto Police Chief urged residents to report abandoned and long‑parked vehicles and provided a dedicated phone number and email for parking enforcement, noting enforcement staff are limited and rely on community reports to target problematic vehicles. "When you see those, call those in so that we can go straight to those and take the proper enforcement action," the chief said, adding the department has community service officers and night-shift enforcement but cannot be everywhere at once.
The chief said reports can be made at (650) 853-5940 or via email to parkingenforcement@cityofEPA.org and that city staff will also publish the contact information in a community update. Council members and staff said stronger enforcement of existing laws — including the 72‑hour rule for unattended vehicles — should be part of any parking strategy alongside the RPP ordinance.
