The Sonora ISD Board of Trustees approved the district’s TIA (Teacher Incentive Allotment) spending plan for 2025–2026 after staff indicated one teacher is eligible for TIA funding this year.
Katie Ruiz, student services coordinator, told trustees there is one teacher eligible to receive TIA funds "pending board approval." John Jones moved to approve the plan and Cynthia Perez seconded; the vote was unanimous (7–0). The district did not disclose the teacher’s name in open session.
The approval allows the district to proceed with TIA-related compensation or designation work outlined in the presented plan; staff will execute necessary payroll and reporting steps.
