Auditor outlines July additional appropriations including three public-health grants and ARPA line items

The Trumbull County auditor’s office asked commissioners to approve several additional appropriations and intra-fund transfers reflecting expenses submitted July 22–29. The requests included $16,514.78 for the board of elections (precinct election officer training), three Board of Health grants of $48,405, $101,250 and $134,168 for vaccination, homeless-youth services and public-health emergency preparedness, a $388.57 ARPA line for flood-plain mailings and smaller probate and senior-services requests.

"The 1st 1 is board of elections, increasing their budget, 16514 dollars and 78 cents ... The 1st 1 is the get vaccinated grant," the auditor’s representative said while listing the grant amounts and purposes. The auditor also described transfers submitted July 22–29 that move money between accounts without changing total appropriations.

Commissioners asked clarifying questions about specific line items and whether any transfers would affect operating budgets; staff said the transfers primarily reallocated existing funds. The auditor noted one commissioner office request of $26,015 tied to an ODOT outpost property payment and described small maintenance and wage requests in probate and senior-services accounts.

The matter remained on the agenda for formal action; the transcript records the items being presented to the board but does not show a recorded final vote on each appropriation in the public portion of the meeting.

Looking ahead, staff said they would provide documentation and answer questions as commissioners review their packets before formal approval.
