At its May 20 meeting the Sanilac County Board of Commissioners approved a series of routine and substantive actions. The board adopted the meeting agenda and the May 6 minutes by voice vote. It appointed four members to the local Transportation Advisory Council for two‑year terms, approved claims and additional disbursements totaling $932,620.73 across two items, and adopted budget amendments and transfers as presented.
Key votes and formal actions included unanimous roll‑call adoption of a resolution supporting participation in the Thumb Area Regional Community Corrections FY 2026 grant application and unanimous roll‑call adoption of the county’s 2025 summer property tax levy (4.0339 allocated mills after the millage reduction fraction). The board also accepted the 2024 Drug Task Force report and the 2024 Health Department annual report by voice votes and authorized emergency repairs to the county 911 microwave system at a not‑to‑exceed amount of $338,741.75, funded from the 9‑1‑1 millage fund.
