Insurance representatives presented a master inventory and explained the county’s renewal options, including changing from scheduled to blanket coverage.
The agent reported a modest premium increase to move from scheduled to blanket coverage and presented deductible options. The county’s example rental excavator was temporarily added to the blanket for a short period while rented. The county agreed that a $100 deductible was appropriate; a motion to accept that deductible passed by voice vote. As the presenter explained, "the renewal with scheduled limit was $79.74. And then down below, we did renew with a $100 deductible for $87.40," describing options for increasing deductibles to lower premium.
Commissioners asked staff to provide values and locations for outdoor assets (sirens) so insurers could schedule them properly. The insurance team said they would follow up with a breakdown of premium options and help the county identify which items need to be added to the schedule.
