Moore outlined enforcement activity — sergeants and deputies executing warrants and overseeing cases — and emphasized ongoing training to keep investigators current with changing drug trends. He described the DTF's education 'team' program as active in all seven school districts and said prevention educator Crystal Veil logged 653 one‑on‑one prevention sessions in 2024. Moore also credited the drug take‑back program for removing hundreds of pounds of medications from circulation and noted a modest increase in the forfeiture account, with roughly $100,000 earmarked annually for a dedicated canine handler position.
Board members thanked Moore and asked a series of training and program questions; the board then moved to accept the DTF report by motion and voice vote. The board also accepted the DTF’s recommendation to continue funding enforcement and prevention work through the millage, with staffing increases expected as deputies complete training.
