Trustees used the reports-and-comments portion of the meeting to thank staff, recognize recent awards and offer condolences to families following a student death.
Dr. Amy Anderson told trustees this was the last meeting in the current boardroom and thanked them for stewardship while announcing future meetings will be held in the new Event Center. Trustee Brian Zator offered a lengthy reflection: "We don't have it all figured out yet but as a team, we appreciate what you all are doing but we know it's hard on you because you care about the kids. I want to thank you all for what you are doing." Several trustees praised counselors and the district's response to recent events.
Trustees also said they were pleased by the students leading the Pledge and highlighted upcoming events including the Hall of Fame and the Event Center grand opening. The meeting adjourned at 7:52 p.m.
