A representative of an advisory committee briefed the council on plans for a Cultural Heritage Park and an Eatonville Museum, saying a community meet-and-greet is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 5:30 p.m. at Macedonia. The presenter said the project team recently submitted application materials to a tax‑advisory task force and will post the slide deck for public review.
The presenter identified the effort as part of a larger push to capture cultural-heritage tourism opportunities and said each proposal brought forward is unique. "Every single proposal is unique and different," the presenter said, and described the meet-and-greet as an opportunity for community members to ask questions and offer ideas. Councilmembers thanked the presenter for consistent updates and asked for follow-up on advisory-board membership and outreach to legacy residents.
Council encouraged the advisory committee to continue public engagement and to return with updates on the project's timeline, funding applications and anticipated next steps.
