Florence approves trauma first-responder training for Officer Alexis Gooden

On Nov. 18 the Florence board approved sending Officer Alexis Gooden to an eight-hour Prehospital Trauma Life Support course on Dec. 2, 2025 at Camp Shelby, MS, and authorized the city to pay the $50 registration fee and allowable related costs.
Chief Brad Burns recommended that Officer Alexis Gooden attend an eight-hour Prehospital Trauma Life Support course for first responders on December 2, 2025 at Camp Shelby, Mississippi. The board approved the training request and authorized payment of the $50 registration fee and all related costs allowed under state law.
The motion was made by Alderman Brent Sistrunk and seconded by Alderman Kyle Martin and carried by unanimous vote. The training is scheduled for Dec. 2 and the city will cover registration and allowable expenses as recorded in the minutes.
