Residents press CDD on golf-course trees, curbs, microphones and mosquito control

Resident Bruce Harris asked who is responsible for trees on the golf course; HPCA General Manager Herb Hurley and Grounds Superintendent Tim Gatz said they would address the question and speak with Mr. Harris after the meeting. Joyce Welsh reported that curbs in front of her residence are crumbling and was asked to provide her address to District Engineer Kurt Heath for inspection. Tim Sweeney asked about using microphones during meetings; Chair Kathleen Lonergan said she submitted the request and Mr. Gatz asked to be copied on related emails.
Resident Susan Napolitano questioned whether awarding contracts to the lowest-priced bidder is best practice; District Manager Chuck Adams said he has worked with Premier Lakes and "deems their service level to be superior to SOLitude." Supervisor Janice Benedetti reported a mosquito-control technician treated an area the next day and "identified significant issues on that particular pond." The board discussed whether to formalize a policy for requests such as resident-installed sprinklers in lakes or handle them individually.
