Central SD 51 reviews curriculum and safety updates; plans for summer ESY announced

Director of Curriculum Mr. Halpin reported professional development and curriculum-review activity; Director of Special Education Mr. King provided special education enrollment and ESY planning; principals updated the board on safety drills and a 6th-grade presentation with Officer Taylor.
At the March 12 meeting Mr. Halpin, the district's Director of Curriculum and Instruction, presented professional development evaluation results for Skyward training and curriculum reviews of Wonders and Reveal Math, and discussed curriculum planning flow and software licensing.
Mr. King, Director of Special Education, thanked school social workers and shared special education enrollment, evaluation numbers and plans for an Extended School Year (ESY) hosted by District 51 and District 52 this summer. Building principals also reported on enrollment, safety drills and a 6th-grade presentation with Officer Taylor addressing student behavior concerns and social-emotional learning efforts.
