Building principals provided routine updates on enrollment and school activities during the Oct. 15 Central CUSD 3 board meeting. Zak Huston reported Central High School enrollment of 232 and listed Feed the Farmer dates (Sept. 27 and Oct. 11), a petting zoo at CES on Oct. 17, and a band/chorus Christmas showcase on Dec. 13. Tracy Rhea reported a junior high enrollment of 228 and described a fund-raiser concluded Sept. 17, a Veterans Day event scheduled for Nov. 10 and a Mobile Dentist visit on Nov. 17.
Chevi Ingalls reported Central Elementary School enrollment of 239, described a "Land of Smiles" dental-hygiene presentation and a community theater trip funded by Arts Quincy; Amanda Shoopman reported Central Middle School enrollment of 114 and named Heidi Turner staff member of the month. The board acknowledged October Senior of the Month Braizley Allison.
Administrators also referenced professional development: 19 teachers attended a session on working with essential STAR data and staff began curriculum discussions for 7th and 8th grade math.
