District leadership and building principals presented School Improvement Plans that emphasize increasing achievement in reading and mathematics by improving student attendance, self-management, engagement and goal setting. As part of the plan, staff will focus on assessment literacy, ‘‘data digs,’’ clear classroom targets and tiered instructional strategies to support differentiated intervention.
Principals also described school-level activities to support the work, including parent-teacher conferences to share benchmark data and classroom strategies, and programs that promote student engagement and community (for example, Prairieview's buddy reading program and extracurricular activities). The presentation framed these items as multi-tiered instructional and school-culture priorities rather than immediate policy changes.
