Superintendent Tim J. Schurman reported that during the Jan. 16 School Improvement half-day institute staff used AI to analyze winter assessment scores and develop instructional interventions and lesson plans based on the results. The report was presented as part of routine administrative business and framed as an instructional-planning exercise rather than a policy decision.
Elementary Principal D. Eich updated the board on the district spelling bee, second-quarter report-card distribution and teacher-institute focus on data-guided instruction. Jr./Sr. High Principal T. Jakse said high‑school final exams were administered Dec. 18–19 prior to winter break, initial planning for the 2026–27 master schedule had begun, and the district hosted a NAMI president mental-health presentation for grades 6–12. These reports were informational; no formal board actions were recorded on these items during the meeting.
