Superintendent, Principals Report on Grants, Testing, and School Programs
Summary
Superintendent T. Schurman reported grant amendments for Title I/II/IV and preparation of the School Maintenance Grant application; principals reported on NWEA-MAP testing, the Christmas program, and the Missile Mentor program.
At the Dec. 15 meeting Superintendent T. Schurman reported that Title I, Title II and Title IV grant amendments have been submitted to the Illinois State Board of Education to account for additional funds received, and that the School Maintenance Grant application is complete and ready for submission.
Under Administrative Business the board was informed that State of Illinois proration of categorical grants has made it difficult to maintain a surplus in the transportation fund. JH/HS Principal T. Jakse reported successful completion of NWEA-MAP testing and said the Christmas program was well attended. Elementary Principal D. Eich described the "Missile Mentor" program and said it has focused on teaching respect and included a variety of reinforcing activities for students.
These items were presented as administrative updates; the board did not take separate formal action beyond approving the grant application submission noted elsewhere in the minutes.
