Principals report testing complete, upcoming awards and School of Rock performances; district applies for literacy grant

Principal Neaveill said midterms went home April 11 and that all IAR and ISA state testing at the elementary school is complete. She noted the awards ceremony and report card distribution are scheduled for May 16, class field trips are upcoming, and elementary Teacher Appreciation Week is May 5–9. Principal Willard said state testing was completed and celebrated with treats and a junior-high dodgeball tournament; he reported a cabaret show on April 10 raised funds for the upcoming musical and that a recent blood drive generated enough donations to fund a second $500 scholarship for a graduating senior.
Superintendent Weidner said the district’s School of Rock musical is scheduled for April 24–26, staff completed CPR/AED training April 16, students Hayden Rice and Payton Lents participated in a radio interview with Seth Laurence to promote the musical, and the district submitted a state grant application for the Illinois Comprehensive Literacy Plan.
