Cerro Gordo board approves teacher hire, multiple coaching appointments and staff transfers

The board voted to hire Hunter Tucker as a 4th-grade teacher effective August 12, 2025. It also approved coaching hires: Jordan Wright (HS Head Cheerleading coach), James Callaway (HS Head cross-country coach), Donnie Ridgeway (HS assistant football coach), and shared stipends for Sam Dalton and Doug Henderson as assistant football coaches. All hires were approved on unanimous roll calls.
The board added four additional work days to Nurse Megan Shackelford’s calendar. It accepted the resignation of Judy Enis as Recess Supervisor effective May 27, 2025, and approved transfers moving Kelly Marina to RTI Math and Sarah Bone to 3rd grade, both effective August 12, 2025. The board tabled action on wages and salary for non-certified and administrative staff for further discussion.
