County attorney urges board to seek Rules Committee meeting to pursue disclosure-form redesign

County Attorney Richard Golden joined the April 23 meeting to discuss redesigning the Annual Statement of Financial Disclosure Form. Golden recommended the board send correspondence to the Chairperson of the Rules Committee asking for a meeting so the board could seek approval to make recommendations for improvements or changes to the Ethics Law and to the disclosure form.
Golden emphasized that any changes to the form must be consistent with the Ethics Law. The board directed Secretary LaVelle to draft the letter to the Rules Committee. No formal changes to the form were adopted at this meeting; the item was recorded as a recommended next step pending Rules Committee engagement.
