Board adopts press-policy updates; Crest Hill Lions present student awards

The Chaney-Monge Board approved updates to the district’s Press Policy (March 2026) on a second reading during the April 21 meeting. The motion was made by Charles Methvin and seconded by Mason and passed on a 6–0 roll-call vote.
Earlier in the meeting, Ray Semplinski of the Crest Hill Lions presented Student of the Month awards for February and March to several students (recipients included Byron Ortiz, Jordin Gayhart, Cadence Wright, Mauricio Santana, Jimena Zamora, Daijah Bell, and Sophia Lima; Sofia Morales was absent). Superintendent Andy Siegfried reported that Candor visited the school that week with lower-than-normal attendance, noted May calendar updates for awards, graduation, and picnic dates, and said lighting work with contractor Birdie is scheduled to begin in approximately six weeks.
The press-policy update was recorded as part of action item approvals; the meeting minutes list the policy as the March 2026 update to be incorporated into the district policy manual.
