The Chaney-Monge Board of Education approved interim financial reports and bills totaling $950,407.17 during its April 21 meeting in the school library.
During communications, Director of Business Services Mary Ann Egizio explained higher-than-normal bills were tied to a third-quarter LASEC payment; the board then approved the financial reports and minutes as part of the consent agenda. Later, the board voted to authorize Egizio and Superintendent Andy Siegfried to begin formal work on the FY27 budget and to complete required notices. The motion to start budget planning was made by Drew Lopez and seconded by Charles Methvin and carried on a 6–0 roll call vote (Ramsak, Godinez, Mason, Fuglsang, Methvin, Lopez voting yes; Sanchez absent).
“Bills are large due to 3rd quarter LASEC payment,” Director Mary Ann Egizio reported during the meeting. The board also set a public hearing for June 16, 2026 at 6:55 p.m. to consider an FY26 budget amendment, after a separate motion to set the hearing carried on a 6–0 roll call.
