Board approves maternity leave request; principals report on student recognition and mentoring programs

The board approved a leave request from Mrs. Katie Mitchell, accepting maternity leave to begin approximately April 3, 2026 and continue through the end of the 2025–26 school year. The motion was made by A. Drinkall, seconded by M. Urish, and passed on a roll call vote of 7–0.
In administrative reports, Jr./Sr. High Principal T. Jakse said the Missile Mission recognition program is proceeding well and praised the volleyball and football teams for their seasons. Elementary Principal D. Eich reported that school improvement committee work is progressing and that the Missile Mentor program is focused on "How I Show Respect" this month.
Superintendent Schurman also noted the Veteran's Day assembly on Nov. 11 and reminded the board of the Triple I School Board Convention scheduled for Nov. 21–23, 2025. These items were presented as reports; no additional board action was recorded on them.
