The council was informed that the nuisance enforcement matter for Higginbotham at 604 Madison has been escalated to collections after a lack of response to a second notice. The prosecutor reported that the subject did not reply and the matter was "found committed"; the fine before collection fees is $1,250.
Other outstanding nuisance matters (Adcox at 608 Washington, Deloris Hougardy at 608 Garfield and Dan Rush at 402 Washington) remain in progress. Attorney Jeff said he will reach out to the prosecutor regarding the Dan Rush matter. The council recorded the Higginbotham status for its minutes and will await collection action.
Why it matters: The council is enforcing town nuisance ordinances and using collections to recover fines when property owners do not respond; related matters remain open and under prosecution or administrative follow-up.
