The Chadwick‑Milledgeville CUSD 399 Board on Nov. 17 adopted a preliminary 2025 tax levy by a 6–1 roll call vote. Trustee T. Hackbarth moved the measure; S. Engelkens seconded. Trustee A. Drinkall cast the lone recorded dissent.
Superintendent T. Schurman told the board the district's equalized assessed valuation (EAV) is projected to increase by more than 5 percent, which under Illinois procedures requires the board to hold a Truth in Taxation hearing; the minutes state that hearing will take place at the December board meeting.
The vote recorded adoption of the preliminary levy; the minutes do not list the levy rate, estimated revenues, or line‑by‑line changes. The levy will be finalized after required notices and the December hearing.
