Public Works Superintendent Matt reported that South Cle Elum's watermain replacement project has advanced, with almost all alleys between South Cle Elum Way and Sixth Street now receiving new mainline. He said services will be connected after pressure testing and bacterial sampling are cleared and that residents will receive advance notification before any planned outages.
Matt also reported an 8" main blowout at Gobbler's Knob Road and Westside that occurred early Friday morning at 2:00 A.M. and was fixed around 2:00 P.M. Council noted that Washington Avenue had been crack-sealed by the county in preparation for a chip-seal project funded by the Transportation Improvement Board expected around the end of July.
